:: PSone installation ::

Here are some very detailed instructions that have been designed to help you modify your Playstation as quickly as possible. In order to begin your modification you will need the following:

  • A soldering iron with a fine tip and solder (we send you super thin solder, use it!)
  • A philips head screwdriver

Now that we have the materials we are ready to modify the Playstation!

Stage 1:
  Go to a clean work area and heat up your soldering iron.
Stage 2:

Turn over the playstation and remove the 6 screws from the base as illustrated by figure 1. Place the 6 screws on the screw sheet in section A. Turn the system back over and remove the top cover.

Stage 3:

1. *Unplug Laser ribbon (cable) from the board. Wiggle carefully from side to side to remove while holding the white papered area.
2. Remove laser cable (remove BLACK laser unit and place in a safe spot)

Stage 3 part II:

Examine the board below this is where you will solder the wires coming from the chip.
(cut the blue wire off your chip you do not need it for the mini ps one.)

WE ARE NOW READY TO INSTALL THE MOD CHIP

Make sure to leave the cover on the chip as it isolates it from the board.

Now all we have to do is solder the wires to the system board. **Trim the wires, make the pre stripped end smaller in length then the location your soldering to on the board. Now add a small amount of solder to spots your going to be soldering to, just heat up that spot and add a SMALL amount of solder. After doing this to all spots wires will be soldered to, one at a time place each wire on top of those spots and heat them up on the board so they attach to the correct locations. Thats it your done, no need to mount the chip, just make sure its flat against the board.
(remember to cut the blue wire off your chip for psone.)

Reverse all the steps above to reassemble your system.
