Disassembly of the 9/10 50001 PS2

1. Disconnect all power and A/V cords from your
PS2. Ensure all devices including memory cards, controllers,
compact discs and/or DVD’s are removed from the system.
2. Turn your PS2 upside down and remove all eight
screw caps (4 rubber and 4 plastic). These caps cover the
PS2 assembly screws. Pry the caps off gently using a small flat head screw driver.
Note: Four of the eight case
screws are 2 1/2” in length, and all screws must be re-used in their appropriate
holes only.
3. Remove the machines cover.

4. Once you open machine you will see it differs from past models as the reset button is mounted. Remove controller port screw you will be able to now remove the PS2 from the bottom shell.
5. Carefully clip up the controller cable latch and unplug cable. Set controller port to the side.
6. Remove power switch and screw underneath it.
7. Remove 4 screw securing the power supply.
8. Remove plastic isolator card and carefully unplug the fan cable.

9. You are now ready to remove the small Philips screws, there are 9 in total.
10. Once you remove the metal plate, remove the 4 side cables by carefully pulling on them and slightly wiggling side to side, then flip up the ribbon latch for the laser cable and unplug the cable from the board.
